Sales

Inbound only. No cold lists and no dialling for activity. Every business on your calendar came to us first, and your job is to work out whether we are the right thing for them.

01

Watch this first

Before the email, watch the pitch for this role. It is the same thing we would say on the call: what the work is, who it suits, and what happens after you apply.

Role video

What the Sales job actually looks like.

What a normal week holds, who the role suits, what it does not suit, and what the test actually measures.

Video coming shortly. The pitch for this role goes here: what the work looks like, who it suits, and how the test works.

02

What you'll actually be doing

You spend your day on the phone and in a shared inbox with business owners who came to us, not the other way around. They arrived from an ad, a blog post or this page. They already want something; the work is understanding what, and being straight with them either way. Most of these businesses are between two and fifty people, and the person you are speaking to is usually the owner.

  • Run the first call: understand what the business does, what is stuck, and what they have already tried.
  • Show the first two weeks in plain terms — what gets built, who does it, what it costs — instead of a deck full of promises.
  • Work out who this is wrong for and say so on the call. A bad-fit client costs more than a lost one.
  • Handle the objections that come up daily: price, previous agencies, "we tried ads before", and "I need to think about it".
  • Follow up with the people who went quiet. That is most of them, and it is where the money is.
  • Keep the notes straight in the CRM so the specialist who takes the account over starts with the full picture.
  • Feed back what you hear: the pricing objection, the question you answered three times, the thing people keep asking for that we do not sell yet.

Who this is for

Someone who has sold a service before and would rather be straight than pushy. You are comfortable asking a business owner direct questions about money, you can hear "no" without taking it personally, and you would rather know exactly where a deal stands than hope.

Who this is not for

Someone who needs a script to feel comfortable, or who pushes a bad-fit applicant through because the numbers look better that month. If your instinct when a lead objects is to talk over them, this is not the role.

Four clients, max
Every specialist holds at most four businesses at once. The cap is the job, not a perk: it is why the work is good.
From $997 a month
Base pay starts at $997 a month and rises with the work you hold and the clients you keep.
A senior above you
You report to someone who has done this role at this company, with the whole specialist team and the software behind you.

Yes. Full time, fully remote, US EST hours.

Can I work from another country?

Yes. Work from anywhere. You just need to overlap with US EST.

What does it pay?

What are the hours?

US EST. The overlap is mandatory because it's how you work with clients and the team.

Do I need my own tools or subscriptions?

No. Everything runs on SuperCool, our own platform, and we provide it.

Will I be talking to clients?

Yes, directly, from day one.

How to apply

One email, one role, and something you have actually made or done. That is the whole application. Nobody is reading for keywords.

What to send

  • One sentence on what you have sold before, and to whom.
  • A short note on the last deal you closed: what the buyer was worried about, and what you actually said.
  • Anything that shows you treat selling as a craft rather than a pitch.
  • One link to something you have actually made or done in this kind of work.
  • Your name and where you are based, so we know which hours you keep.

What not to send

  • No generic cover letter. If you want to write something, write it about this role.
  • No CV longer than one page. One page, or a link.
  • No list of tools you have used without saying what you built with them.
  • No second application. Applying to more than one role reads as applying to none.
  1. You email us. One email to jobs@doubleup.ai with the role name in the subject line. Applications open by email for now, and that address is the whole entry point.
  2. You get the test. Within two working days we send the practical test for the role you picked, with the brief and the tools you will need.
  3. You do the test. You take the time it asks for and send it back. The test is the whole interview: there is no panel and no second stage after it.
  4. You hear back. Roughly a week from the day you send the test in. Everyone who does the test hears back either way, yes or no.
Apply for this role by email

Applications open by email for now. The button opens a message to jobs@doubleup.ai with Sales already in the subject line — send it as it is, or write over the top of it.

06

The application test

The test is the whole interview: there is no second stage and no panel. You get a real enquiry from a real business and you work in the same tools you would use here.

What you are given

A real inbound enquiry

A business that came in last week, what they asked for, and the notes from their first conversation with us.

How long it takes

About 45 minutes

A recorded call or a written response, plus the list of discovery questions you would have asked.

What is measured

Judgement and honesty

Whether you spot where the business does not fit us, and whether we would put you in front of a client next week.

Test content — coming shortly

The Sales test goes here.

The sample enquiry, the questions we would have wanted asked, and the response we were looking for. The test content is being written and will be published on this page.
